‘Money donated to NPR… in the hope that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to hear it,’ she said.
Last week, U.S. singer and actress Sheryl Crow sold her Tesla vehicle, manufactured by the company led by Elon Musk, and donated the money to the United States’ National Public Radio (NPR).

“There comes a time when one has to decide who they are willing to align with. Goodbye, Tesla,” said the “Real Gone” singer in an Instagram post, which includes a video capturing the moment she bids farewell to her car as it is transported away by a tow truck.
“My parents always said… you are who you hang out with. There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla,” the singer added.
The money from the sale was donated to NPR, a nonprofit organization that produces programs for a network of over 1,000 radio stations across all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
“Money donated to NPR, which is under threat from President Musk, in the hope that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to hear it,” Crow said.
Currently, Musk is responsible for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a department created by Donald Trump to implement budget cuts in the administration.
The House of Representatives panel working with DOGE recently sent a letter to the directors of NPR and PBS, demanding that they testify before Congress regarding the use of government funds for what the panel referred to as “systemically biased content.”
